What we need
A sharp scan of the Japanese original. As the source uses a non-Latin script, please ensure every kanji, seal and red stamp reads clearly. For family registers, send the complete koseki shohon or koseki tohon rather than a summary slip, and for academic records take in any grading-scale key printed on the reverse.

- Can you notarise the translation, not just certify it?
- Yes. Notaries public sit within the firm, so a certified translation can be notarised on the spot and, when the destination is part of the Apostille Convention, passed to the Singapore Academy of Law for the apostille. The matter stays with one office throughout, not split between a translator and an outside notary.
- Will you translate the entire koseki, or just the relevant extract?
- We render whatever you provide. If the receiving authority needs only a single entry, such as a marriage or an adoption, we can take just that page, though sending the whole register is wiser so the document stands on its own once filed.
- My degree certificate is mostly in kanji with English only on the cover. Is the body translated?
- Yes. The whole document is rendered, including the kanji conferring language, the institution seal descriptions and any faculty notations. We reproduce the cover English word for word so the two sides agree.
- Will credential evaluators accept your translation of a Japanese transcript?
- Credential evaluators take certified translations from qualified translators. Our certified English PDF, filed next to the original Japanese transcript, is what they look for, and we can layer on notarisation through our notary should an evaluator or admissions office expressly require it.
