Tamil to English translation in Singapore, certified and ready to notarise.

We translate Tamil-language papers into English to the standard ICA, the Singapore courts, notaries and authorities abroad expect. With notaries public and commissioners for oaths in the firm, we carry a job from translation through certification and, where the destination calls for it, into notarisation or an apostille, all in one place. The sources we see most are birth, marriage and divorce certificates from Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka, educational records from Tamil-medium institutions, legal affidavits and commercial agreements.

What we need

A sharp scan of the Tamil original. As the source is a non-Latin script, please make sure each character, seal and stamp reads clearly. Where the Indian Ministry of External Affairs has already apostilled the document for use abroad, send those pages too so the translation spans the whole legalised bundle.

Typical documents

Birth, marriage and divorce certificates from Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka, educational certificates and transcripts from Tamil-medium schools and colleges, legal affidavits and powers of attorney, and Tamil-language wills and estate papers for probate in Singapore.

Notarisation and apostille

Because we are a law firm, a certified translation passes directly to our notary public and, for Apostille Convention destinations, on to the Singapore Academy of Law. Every stage is dealt with here, leaving nothing to book elsewhere.

What you get

A certified English PDF, certified by the firm and signed by the translator on each page, with seals and stamps noted in place. Tamil names follow your passport or NRIC spelling where you share it; otherwise we apply the standard government transliteration. Printed sets go out by courier anywhere in Singapore.

Frequently asked questions

Can you notarise the translation, not just certify it?
Yes. With notaries public on staff, a certified translation can be notarised here and, where the destination belongs to the Apostille Convention, sent to the Singapore Academy of Law for the apostille. One office handles it end to end, rather than a translator and a separate notary.
My Tamil Nadu birth certificate is already apostilled. Can you still translate it?
Yes. The apostille is fixed to the original, and our translation takes in both the original entries and the apostille sticker. Capture all pages in your scan so the bundle is complete.
Will ICA accept this for dependent-pass applications?
Yes. ICA routinely takes our Tamil to English certified translations for dependent-pass, LTVP and related family-reunion applications, with notarisation added in the same office should a case officer ask for it.
How are Tamil names rendered?
We default to the spelling carried on your passport or NRIC when you share it. If you would rather a particular romanisation for consistency with other documents, say so at quote time and we will hold to it.
