Yes. We are a law firm with notaries public in-house, so a certified translation can be notarised and, if your destination is an apostille country, sent for apostille through the Singapore Academy of Law. You deal with one office throughout, rather than a translator and a separate notary.

Will ICA and overseas embassies accept the translation?

For most purposes, yes. A small number of destinations ask for notarisation or an apostille on top of the certified translation, both of which we arrange here. Tell us the authority and country when you enquire so we set it up correctly the first time.

Can you translate an old or handwritten birth register?

Yes. Old-script registers, handwritten entries and faded photocopies are routine. Where a word truly cannot be made out, we mark it with a note in square brackets instead of inventing a reading, which is the approach notaries and authorities prefer.

Do you translate certificates for children born abroad?

Regularly, most often when a family is registering the child with a consulate here in Singapore. Birth records from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines, India and a wide range of other jurisdictions are rendered into English for ICA and MFA submissions.

What we need

Send a clean scan or photo showing the whole certificate, including the reverse where it carries entries. A picture taken on your phone works well, provided each seal, stamp and signature comes through clearly enough to read. There is no need to part with the original before we start.
